Surah Al-Ahzab is the first Surah of Islamiat 10 class notes of chapter 1. The Surah discusses three important events: the Battle of the Trench(or Al-Ahzab: the Clans), which took place in Shawwal, A.H.5; the raid on Bani Qurizah, which was made in Zhil-Qa’dah, A.H.5; and the Holy Prophet’s marriage with Hazrat Zainab.

       You will read the historical background of this surah. The Islamic army’s setback in the Battle of Uhud which resulted from the error of the archers appointed by the Holy Prophet so boosted the morale of the Arab pagans and the Jews and the hypocrites that they started entertaining the hope that they would soon be able to exterminate Islam and the Muslims completely. 

       Their high state of morale can be judged by the events that occurred in the first year after Uhud. 

Surah Mumtahina is the second Surah of Islamiat 10 class notes. You will read about the historical background of Surah Al-Mumtahinah, In verse 10 of this Surah it has been enjoined that the women who emigrate to dar al-Islam ( the Islamic State) and claim to be Muslims, should be examined hence the title Al-Mumtahinah. 

          You will learn in this Surah about two incidents, the first relates to Hazrat Hatib bin Abz Balta’a, who a little before the conquest of Makkah, had sent a secret letter to the Quraish chiefs informing them of the Holy Prophet’s intention to attack them.

The second incident relates to Muslim women, who had started emigrating from Makka to Madinah, after the conclusion of the Truce of Hudaibiyah, and the problem arose whether they also were to be returned to the disbelievers, like the Muslim men, according to the conditions of the Truce.

 In Hadees 11, you will read about Salat( worship/prayer) is the pillar of religion. There are five times calls for prayer from the mosque. Allah asks us to spend some time in worship. We should give up all material and worldly interests at the time of prayer.

       You will read in Hadees 12, “ When on Friday you said to your companion, “Be silent” while Imam was delivering the sermon, but you talked rubbish.” No Friday prayer is complete without a sermon. No one should make any noise during the Friday sermon. 

        In Hadees 13, you will learn about “ One who jumped over the necks of the people on Friday (on if) he built a bridge towards Hell.” In this hadith, attention has been drawn to social manners, respect for mankind, civility, courtesy, and discipline. 

        In Hadees 14, you will study about “when Salat is in progress, do not rush towards it hastily, rather walk with peace and satisfaction. Whatever part of Salat you get on reaching, perform it, then complete the rest of the Salat(prayer).” 

        Hadees 15, you will get knowledge about fast, “Anyone who observed fast for faith and reward, woke up during Ramdan’s nights, his past sins will be pardoned.” Fasting is one of the five pillars of Islam. Allah says, “ Fasting is for me and I am its reward ( I shall give its reward). (Hadith Quddasi)

        In Hadees 16, you will read about “ There are two pleasures for a person who keeps fast. He has his first pleasure at the time of iftar and he will have the second pleasure at the time when he will meet his Allah.

        In Hadees 17, you will learn about Hajj,” Whosoever performed Hajj and fulfilled the ceremonies or rights of Hajj fully and the Muslims remained safe from his tongue and hand then his previous sins will be pardoned.”

        In Hadees 18, you will get knowledge about Jihad,” Whose feet were dusty in the way of Allah, Allah made fire unlawful on him.”

       In Hadees 19, you will learn about accountability, “Everyone is a guard (supervisor) and he will be accountable for his duties.”

       In Hadees 20, you will read about Islam does not allow any man to become selfish and self-centered. “ The best among people is one who is the source of benefit to the people.

 Taharat & Physical Cleanliness is the fifth chapter of Islamiat 10 class notes on the Punjab board. You will learn about cleanliness (Taharat) means to purify. Cleanliness in every walk of life is very important. If we take bath without following the principles of Shariah, it does not come under the orbit of Taharat.

Rights of People and Human Relations in the Light of the Sayings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) is the ninth chapter of Islamiat 10 class notes. You will learn in this chapter about Huqooq Ulibaab. Huqooq is a plural of Haq meaning right and Ibaad is a plural of Abd’ meaning people. Therefore, Huqooq Ulibaad is defined as the rights of the people.
